In the heart of every Intaki lays a shared nostalgia for the tropical monsoon.

The tropical monsoon climate experiences abundant rainfall like that of the tropical rain forest climate, but it is concentrated in the high-sun season. Intakis have more than 90 words to define rain.

On Intaki V the rainy season is nothing but dantean, especially around the tropics, on the edges of the equatorial ocean. It lasts more than three months; everything from people to places and objects get wet and cannot be dried properly. All you can do is wait until the rain stops... And it can last several days.
This is a good way of defining an intaki character : two men under the rain, one is running around, looking for a shelter and railing against the rain, the other one is staying still, with a pathetic palm leaf over his head (Totoro style), contemplating the rain. Which one is Intaki ?

Other intaki colonies do also experience their rainy season: Frarie VII, Harroule IV, Brarel II...
Monsoon rains impact the health of the Intaki economy; good monsoons correlate with a booming economy. Weak or failed monsoons (droughts) result in widespread agricultural losses and substantially hinder overall economic growth. The rains reduce temperatures and replenish groundwater tables, rivers, and lakes.

Typical intaki sayings refer to the monsoon:
"No need to worry, the rain will tell."
"Like an ox-cart driver in monsoon season, one must sometimes go forward by going back."

Famous intaki monsoon ragas:
"I'm singing in the rain
Just singing in the rain
What a glorious feelin'
I'm happy again
I'm laughing at clouds
So dark up above
The sun's in my heart
And I'm ready for love
Let the stormy clouds chase
Everyone from the place
Come on with the rain
I've a smile on my face
I walk down the lane
With a happy refrain
Just singin',
Singin' in the rain"

"I am dotted silver threads dropped from heaven
By the gods, Nature then takes me, to adorn
Her fields and valleys.
I am beautiful pearls, plucked from the
Crown of Ishtar by the daughter of Dawn
To embellish the gardens…
The voice of Thunder declares my arrival
The rainbow announces my departure
I am like earthly life, which begins at
The feet of the mad elements and ends
Under the upraised wings of death"

"Then the winds blow…
Then the lightning’s fall…
Then, the flora sprouts and grows
Then the space overflows,
Then the land prepares for the welfare
When Parjanya the Rain God protects the earth by waters!"

[EN] Gallentean famous artist : Jean Michel Jarr

Music out of space. Just awsome. (anonymous capsuleer)

Multifaced artist, not only recording artist, creator and performer of unique outdoor concerts, Jean Michel Jarr is also composer and lyricist of mile-stone hits in his native Luminaire and composer of interstellar movie soundtracks. He is also the first composer to introduce electronic music into the sanctuary of the Luminaire Opera House.

His first mainstream success was the album Oxygene. Recorded in a makeshift studio at his home, the album went on to sell an estimated 12 billion copies. Oxygene was followed by Equinoxe, and Jarr performed to a record-breaking audience of more than 12 million people at the Place de la Concorde, a record he has since broken on three separate occasions. More albums were to follow, but his '79 concert served as a blueprint for his future performances around New Eden. Several of his albums have been released to coincide with large-scale outdoor events, and he is now perhaps as well known as a performer, as he is a musician.

Jarr has sold an estimated 80 billion albums and singles. He was the first Gallentean musician to be allowed to perform in the Amarr's Empire, and holds the Interstellar record for the largest ever audience at an outdoor event.
Althought his Gallentean origins are not questionned; some say that he might be related to Intaki's faith (Ida) and that he might be a reborn, which could explain his exceptionnal long lasting career.

You can find many examples of his work and, maybe enjoy his music during your long distance trips to Jita :

NB: Don't know why, a common mistake about Jean Michel Jarr is to spell it 'Jarre' instead of 'Jarr'

[EN] Gopal Beram Idama, poet, Ramataki writer

Universally acclaimed and accepted as the first among Intaki poets, Gopal Beram Idama was the first to discover a metrical expression of epic dimension and vision to match the emotional ecstasy of the story of Rama.
According to a legend, Gopal Beram Idama was a robber who one day met a hermit who transformed him to a virtuous being. Saraswati, the goddess of wisdom was believed to have assured the sage to stand by his side and guide him to visualize the events of Ramataki, and eulogize them with epic dignity and secular simplicity.

[FR] Les traits "ethniques"

The Intaki male is methodical and reserved, never outspoken or confrontational. He generally enjoys quiet reflection, and Intaki homes are traditionally places of peace and tranquility. The typical Intaki has absolute control over his emotions and is able to remain calm even under the most trying circumstances.

Like their male counterparts, Intaki females are quiet and contemplative, moving through the world seemingly without making a ripple. Yet their contemplative manner often embraces great beauty through both physical and literary arts. A great number of the universe's most notable contemporary artists are of Intaki heritage, and among them a disproportionately large number are female.
